ANTIQUE VETTERLI RIFLE FOR SALE...ONE YOU CAN SHOOT!

This is the rifle described in the article "A Wallflower No More" on this site, and also on swissrifles.com. It is a legal antique, and no FFL is required unless you live in some benighted state like New Jersey.

The rifle has been converted to centerfire operation and shoots quite well. It has a modifed front sight and a peep rear sight. The original sight is not available. I will include in the sale a set of dies for the 10.4x37R centefire round; a custom-made Lee mold to make the bullets; and cases and loaded ammunition, complete with load data. Please see the article for details on the modification and customization of this antique. In ballistic performance it's about like a .45-70, suitable for hunting almost any animal in North America. It's a beautiful example of Swiss craftsmanship, all matching, and in excellent shape. The original cleaning rod is in place. This rifle was made in Bern in 1878.

I have a total of $900 in this rig: I'm financing a safari and so it has to be let go. You can have it for $750 plus shipping costs to your US address. It's BIG, and I imagine shipping will be around $40, but I don't make money on shipping, you will pay only actual costs and get a receipt. I can ship this rifle via US Postal Service, or FEDEX. It will be shipped with the stock dismounted to make a more compact package and to minimize any chance of breakage. Send an e-mail to me at outdoorsman@nrvoutdoors.com if you're interested.
